Let’s be real guys. Smartphones are a part of us as much the clothes you are wearing, the water you are drinking, or the air you are breathing. If not, why are you even reading this? 😉 In the month of September, LG V20 announced a smartphone at an event held in San Francisco.
The phone was #LGV20. The phone is priced at Rs. 54,990 (which is quite a big amount in a country like India). The phone is a big deal. It has a next-generation technology which we will discuss in the post. Is it dual SIM? No. Is it the dual camera? No. What’s it? Let’s find out.
Let’s look into the technical specs of the LG V20
This is one of the good things about LG V20. This phone comes with a 5.7-inch display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixel and 513 PPI pixel density. It is an LCD capacitive display that allows multi-touch and comes safely encased in Corning Gorilla Glass 4. However, that’s not the best thing about the screen. On top of the screen in another screen on 160 x 1040 pixels. This secondary screen eats the only slight amount of battery and can give you some important notification like calls, messages, reminders, etc.
Speaking of display, I’m sure you must have owned a phone in the past with a broken screen. Or are you looking at it right now? Being a pricey quality phone, LG has taken special care to save you the price of buying a back cover or flip cover. This phone is made up of Si-PC material, and it has passed US Military Standard Drop Test (MIL-STD-810G). I’m going to give it to the building kids to play a 20-20 someday when I own it!
You must be familiar with wide angled front cameras for amazing groupies. But have you heard of a wide-angled rear camera of impressive landscape and scenery capture? Welcome to LG V20.
The rear camera is 16 MP (f/1.8) + 8 MP (f/2.4) to capture some amazing photos. Besides, it has laser autofocus, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama, and HDR recording. You can record 4K videos with the rear camera as well. The front camera is a 5 MP camera. The front camera is also equipped to take wide angles photos which work great when you want to take a group pic.
While recording video, you can manually change the settings as per the environment of the type of audio. By settings, we are referring to – mic, focus, white balance, shutter speed, EV, ISO, and directivity.
Being a music lover, I am very attracted to this phone. Moreover the engineering implied in this little body of 5.7 inches specifically for the audio enhancement is intriguing. LG V20 uses a quad DAC which reduces white noise and up samples music files to high quality. The manufacturers have put in quite a lot of thought to deliver the best sound for you, the music listening experience is near to hearing the composers live!
The sound quality of the videos being recorded has also been considered and made sure that you enjoy viewing it later as much as you did while recording it. The 3 High AOP mics allow you to record the best audio to deliver the best audio while enjoying it later.
Since the phone audio is by B&O, so you are getting an incredible headset from the same company as a freebie to enhance your music experience.
The performance of LG V20 has not compromised at it has 4 GB of RAM, Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4 core – 2 cores run at 2.15 GHz and 2 cores run at 1.6 GHz. It also runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat.
