The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is now officially launched. As it’s customary for Samsung to reveal almost all the specs of their devices before official launch, we already knew a lot about the device. Now that the specs are official, we can share them with you.
Samsung, as usual, had a bunch of veiled kinds of stuff for their fanboys and fangirls which you will find below.
Let’s quickly go through the specs.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Specifications
Display
Samsung devices are all about displays. The rich feel one gets while using such amazing display is what sets Samsung Galaxy Note 9 apart from other premium smartphones. The Galaxy Note 9 comes with a gigantic 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD+ display. The absence of notch and thin bezel adds to the grandeur of the device.
Fingerprint Sensor
The fingerprint sensor of the Note 9 can be found on the back panel. The dual camera, LED Flash and sensors are placed one after the other in a horizontal line while the fingerprint sensor is placed just below this strip.
The Note 9 is a vertically long device, there’s a high probability that you might find it difficult to reach the fingerprint sensor with your finger if you have small hands.
Camera
The camera you’ll find in the Galaxy Note 9 is a ditto of the one you find in Galaxy S9 Plus. The rear camera is a dual 12MP shooter with f/1.5 and f/2.4 apertures respectively. They both are equipped with optical image stabilization. There will also be some minor camera improvements over S9 Plus’ because Samsung is focussing on software and AI improvement.
The ‘Scene Optimizer Mode’ can identify the object you’re your phone at and change the modes accordingly upto 20 scenarios – food, pet, plants, nature, etc.
The front camera is an 8MP shooter with phase detection auto-focus, pretty good to click selfies and do video calls.
Software
Under the hood of Note 9 is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with different RAM and storage options. The low spec device has 6GB RAM coupled with 128GB internal storage while the higher spec device comes with 8GB RAM coupled with 512GB internal storage.
And that’s not all. You will also get the option of inserting a microSD card just in case you want some extra storage on board!
There will also be an Exynos variant of Note 9. Exynos is Samsung’s homegrown chipset and is using the Exynos 9810 in the Note.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
Battery
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 comes with a 4,000 mAh battery with wireless charging and fast charging capabilities. The powerful specs that you find under the hood of the device sure need a lot of juice to run all day to keep up with your busy schedule. This battery is definitely the largest you have seen till date in the Note series.
Wireless Connectivity
In wireless connectivity, Note 9 has a bunch of options – Type-C USB port, dual-band MIMO Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 with aptXHD and dual SIM support.
S Pen
The usual S Pen has received an update over last years S Pen. Now, the pen has Bluetooth support which allows users to take images without touching the phone screen, flip from front camera to rear camera and many more such amazing features. The S Pen is customizable i.e. you can also change the functionality i.e. if you are more of a music person, you can change the setting of the S Pen to control the music settings like Play/Pause, etc.
The S Pen is a chargeable device and it charges itself with the help of a supercapacitor that is inbuilt in the Note 9, In other words, whenever you place the capacitor back in the slot, it charges itself.
Pricing
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be priced at $999 (~Rs. 68.700) only for the lower model and $1250 (~Rs. 86,000) for the higher model.
Pre- Order
The Note 9 is definitely a flagship device and if you are planning to get this device, it’s better to pre-order it. Pre-ordering the device will ensure a lot of goodies with it. The pre-order starts today on 10th August and the device will be available on 24th August both online and offline.
