Is Mi Notebook Air Xiaomi’s take on Apple? Let’s find out.

The launch of Mi Notebook Air was not unknown to us. I could see people making wild guesses about the laptop for some time in social media. Some guessed the Mi logo to be glowing as the Apple logo does, while some guessed the pricing. Mi launched their first laptop family, The Mi Notebook Air Family. We have seen that Xiaomi phones have always stood out in the crowd, it would not be wrong to say we expect the same from their laptops.

Unlike Mi phones which usually have an enormous size, the Mi laptops are smaller than the usual size i.e. they are 12.5 inches and 13.3 inches respectively. Both the laptops would be running on Windows 10 environment. Let’s have a look at the features of Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air.

As the name says, the laptop sports a 12.5-inch display screen. The screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels with a 170-degree wide-angle viewing. The USB ports in the device are – USB Type C (for charging and output display), USB 3.0 Type A and HDMI connector.

The Mi Notebook air 12.5” is powered by a dual-core Intel processor which features Skylake microarchitecture with the 9th generation of integrated graphics 515 with 24 EUs. The CPU clocks at 1.1 GHz for base and 2.2 GHz for the turbo. Me Apart from these, the laptop comes with 4 GB of LPDDR3-1866 RAM, 128 GB SATA SSD, 802.11 a 2×2 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Webcam (1 MP), microphone (x 2), custom AKG speakers.

This version of Mi Notebook is lighter i.e. it weighs only 1.07 kg, and a fully charged battery would run for 11.5 hours (as promised by the company). It’s priced at CNY 3499 or ~$530 or ~Rs. 36,000.

As the name says, the laptop sports a 13.3-inch display screen and is 14.8 mm thick. The screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels with a 170-degree wide-angle viewing. The USB ports in the device are – USB Type C (for charging and output display), USB 3.0 Type A (x 2) and HDMI connector.

The Mi Notebook air 13.3” is powered by a dual-core Intel i5 processor with Intel HD Graphics 520. The CPU clocks at 2.3 GHz for base and 2.8 GHz for the turbo. Me Apart from these, the laptop comes with 8 GB of DDR4-2133 RAM, 256 GB SATA SSD, dual-band 802.11 ac 2×2 Wi Fi, Bluetooth, Webcam (1 MP), microphone (x 2), custom AKG speakers.
This version of Mi Notebook is lighter i.e. it weighs only 1.28kg, and a fully charged battery would run for 9.5 hours (as promised by the company). It’s priced at CNY 4999 or ~$730 or ~Rs. 50,000.

Both these devices sports a very elegant and elite look. Keeping the specs and price in mind, both these laptops are affordable. I can’t wait to lay my hands on them. What about you?
