The Best Available Applications for Business Conference Call

The past few years have given birth to a plethora of different conference call applications and the recent pandemic has only served to help their popularity skyrocket.

Beginning in early 2020, businesses were forced to shut their offices and adapt to a new remote working way of life.

Fortunately, there are plenty of chat applications available to help keep communication up even if you are physically separated from your team. Unfortunately, the large number of available choices can make it hard to decide on a single one to use.

Below we have gone over a few of the best Group video conferencing tools applications available and while they are all good in their own right, we have also ranked them from our favorite to our least favorite.

The 5 best video Conference Call Apps for Teams

1. Zoom

Zoom has been around since 2011 and while it has only really become a mainstream product recently, the almost 10 years of experience they have really shows.

The basic plan that comes with the application is completely free and allows you to host meetings with up to 100 participants for up to 40 minutes at a time.

The paid version has the same limit of 100 participants per meeting, but the maximum duration of any session is increased to 24 hours.

One of the best features that helps Zoom stand out among its competitors is the addition of an integrated professional Zoom background service.

With services like Hello Backgrounds, you can effortlessly add in a virtual background to hide anything behind you, whether that be sensitive information, significant others walking around in the background, or even just a messy room.

With hundreds of options to choose from, virtual backgrounds are almost essential to modern conference calling.

2. Microsoft Teams

This video conferencing software is great because it includes a chat feature and an audio call feature in addition to video conferencing, and all of this comes free along with Office 365.

The best thing about this Online Web Conferencing application is that it works seamlessly with other Microsoft Office apps, making it the perfect choice whenever you want to collaborate on a project with co-workers.

Microsoft Teams allows up to 250 in a video chat room at any one time, and up to 10,000 people are able to watch a presentation live.

Meetings can also be scheduled through Outlook and will then automatically appear in your calendar. Microsoft Teams comes up as a close second thanks to its integration with other Office applications.

3. Google Meet

One of the great things about Google is that every Google account by default has access to Google Hangouts, Gmail, Google Drive, and G Suite Basic.

G Suite Basic can hold video conferences with up to 10 people at a time for an unlimited amount of time, and the paid version allows up to 250 participants with the ability to live stream with up to 100,000 viewers.

Just like Microsoft Teams, Google Meet App integrates seamlessly with other Google products so if you use things like Google Calendar and Gmail, this is a great option for you.

4. Free Conference

Free Conference comes up high in our books thanks to its awesome service for absolutely no charge. It allows you to host video conference calls with up to 100 members, lets you change presenters, record meetings, screen share, and even has a private chat function.

However, while Free Conference call is a great free tool, for larger meetings and presentations they do not offer the same level of support and does not allow as many viewers or participants as the others on this list.

5. Skype

For a long time, Skype was the only video-conferencing application that people knew and were undisputedly at the top of the game, even going so far as having Microsoft purchase the application for a hefty sum back in 2011.

Although recent times have bred some decent competition for Skype, it remains one of the big players and is still a great service.

With the ability to host calls of up to 50 participants, there is no time limit so you can keep your meeting or conference going as long as you need.

One of the best things about Skype is that it already has established and well-tested applications for iOS and Android, making it one of the best choices for anyone who needs to conference while on the move.
